The Basic and
Advanced Skills, Vehicle Operations Section trains the recruit
in the proper operation of police vehicles under routine
and emergency conditions. Students are prepared through
classroom instruction and computerized driving simulators.
They move on to operation of fully equipped rear-wheel and
front-wheel-drive cruisers on a combination of a closed
contoured driving course, a flat course with skid pad and
actual on-the-street driving during practical exercises.
